Tare Talks: ‘Inzaghi going nowhere’ + Nani To Stay?

Before last night’s calamitous European exit in the second leg of the Europa League Quarter-Final, against RB Salzburg, Lazio director Igli Tare said Lazio have “locked down” manager Simone Inzaghi: I think we are at a good stage of the project right now and will try to improve the squad for next season. Bastos is in the stands [last night], Wallace wasn’t even called up, so we know the squad is strong and has many options. The most important thing is dealing with all these options and Simone Inzaghi has always kept the concentration and determination levels high throughout the team.”

There has been some speculation about Inzaghi’s future with Lazio and that Napoli are wanting to replace Sari with Simone next season: We are talking about a great project at Lazio. It’s part of the job to see other clubs praise our Coach, but he has a long contract and we locked him down well. Everywhere he turns, he can see only me and (President Claudio) Lotito!

Finally Tare was asked about Nani’s situation and if he will stay after his loan spell ends: “We talked together a few weeks ago. Our admiration for Nani is strong. He was unlucky, as during the best period of the season, he was missing due to injuries. He also has some players ahead of him that are very difficult to overcome. At the end of the season, hoping we have achieved something important, we’ll sit down and discuss the possibility of him staying.
