Report: Lazio target Udinese and Czech Republic midfielder

As reported by CittaCeleste, Lazio’s search for potential replacements or backups for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has led them to Udinese’s Czech midfielder Antonin Barak.

Antonin Barak signed for Udinese for a fee of €3 million last summer, whilst Transfermarkt currently value the 23-year-old at €12 million. The midfielder has had an impressive season, scoring 6 and assisting a further 3 from mainly the centre of midfield this season.

Barak is versatile and has played out on the left wing, in a centre-defensive midfield position and as an attacking midfielder, alongside his 26 games in the centre of midfield. He made his international debut for the Czech Republic back in 2016 against Denmark, where he scored – and has since totalled 5 goals in his 9 international games so far.

With a lot of potential, Udinese will not be willing to let Barak leave the club for cheap; especially not to a divisional rival. The suggestion is that Lazio will offer a player + cash part-exchange in order to secure Barak’s services. Palombi, Murgia, Crecco and Cataldi are all names that have been suggested may head in the other way, yet there are plenty of names who are quite easily replaceable in the Lazio squad.
