Napoli will reportedly go for Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi if they fail to reach an agreement with Maurizio Sarri.
According to Tuttosport, Napoli and Sarri are some way off over a new contract, with the Coach demanding €4m a season and President Aurelio De Laurentiis only prepared to offer €2.5m.
The newspaper notes the Partenopei’s priority is to keep the 57-year-old but warns his €8m release clause has attracted several other clubs.
However, De Laurentiis has been impressed by Inzaghi for his ‘grace, decisive attitude on the pitch, flexibility and ability to get the most from his players.’
The former Aquile striker replaced Stefano Pioli in April 2016, taking the club to the Coppa Italia Final last season and going on to establish them as a top-six team in Italy.
Would Inzaghi consider leaving Lazio or will he continue to build a legacy for more years to come with the club he loves?
