Reported Barcelona-target Stefan De Vrij has turned down the opportunity to move to Spain and will instead sign for Inter from Lazio.
Gazzetta dello Sport say Inter’s sporting director Walter Sabatini has sealed the deal with the Dutch defender, 26. His contract ends in June and he was free to negotiate a future away from Lazio.
Diario Sport follows up on reports from the Italian media outlet this weekend that Barcelona had launched a late move for the 26-year-old, who was giving the approach ‘serious thought’.
De Vrij is now reportedly set to sign a five-year contract at the Nerazzurri and remain in Serie A.
These are all still reports and rumors going around, what is certain is that De Vrij will part ways with Lazio at the end of the season, and he has many options to choose from.
Whether he stay in Serie A to play for rivals Inter, or go to Spain for a new and challenging adventure with Barcelona, we will have to wait and see.
