Igli Tare to Stay With Lazio Amidst Inter Milan Interest

The beneficial relationship between Lazio and Igli Tare is expected to continue. Tare’s contract is up for renewal and the parties are said to be about to pen a new deal that would keep Tare as the sporting director of Lazio until 2020. Tare’s current deal expires in the summer.

Inter is said to be interested in Tare, as a replacement for Walter Sabatini – who recently left the club.

Tare has occasionally been criticized for his often low-budget solutions and signing players on free transfer. However, he has also been able to convince a player like Miroslav Klose to come to Lazio. Other than that, he has also hit the jackpot with young players like Felipe Anderson, Keita Baldé, Milinkovic-Savic, Strakosha and Luis Alberto. These things haven’t gone unnoticed and he is both a wanted and respected sporting director in Italy.

Tare has said in an earlier interview that he doesn’t have a scouting network, but rather ”many friends” that he trusts. One of them is the former player Mateja Kezman who now is the agent of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Adam Marusic.

Tare might have some work to do in the summer if Sergej were to leave Lazio. But he has according to reports already eyed the suitable substitute.
