The market continues to run its course and churn out some names of possible players to be switching clubs for the season ahead. A player that has been listed as a departure from globoesporte.com is Brazilian midfielder Ganso, a player of Sevilla in Spain, with Lazio said to be one of the clubs hoping for his signature.
Lazio have not been shy of buying players from the South American country, having 5 on their current squad (Luiz Felipe, Felipe Anderson, Wallace, Lucas Leiva, Mauricio).
According to the Brazilian portal, the player is thinking of leaving the Spanish club due to his few appearances again this season. He has made only 20 for the club since joining back in the 2016/17 season (from Brazilian side Sao Paulo) under managers Jorge Sampaoli, Eduardo Berizzo, and Vincenzo Montella.
An attacking midfielder 28 years of age, Ganso likes to play higher up the pitch, in a role similar to Spanish player Luis Alberto of Lazio. A star back in his home country playing with Neymar initially back in 2008 with Santos FC, he was a very talented and skillful playmaker for the club before moving on to Sao Paulo. Here he stayed for 4 years, appearing 106 times before being scooped up by Sevilla. His style of play is more-so on the possession side, including layoffs with short passes involved as he likes to hold on to the ball and make those key passes.
Sevilla has Ganso under contract until 2021, but for a figure that reaches around 10 million euros, they could be persuaded to sell the midfielder.
Other parties interested in the player are Brazilian clubs Gremio and Santos, as well as European club Fenerbache from Turkey.
