A former Lazio youth product superstar may land in Milan – it is not who you are thinking about in Inzaghi’s current stars (Milinković-Savic / Luis Alberto), it is about Keita Balde Diao, who left the capital this past summer.
Keita could arrive at Milan, ready to return to Italy according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Rossoneri sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli had dinner with André Silva’s agent to discuss a possible swap deal that would bring the Portuguese striker to Monaco, and the ex-bianoceleste player to Milan. The last word is up to Gattuso however, as he is the one looking for an attacker to shake up and improve his squad.
Previously a youth product of Barcelona he moved to Rome to play in Lazio’s Primavera team. He moved up the ranks to make his debut for the first team squad back in September of 2013 when they played Chievo Verona in a 3-0 victory.
The speedy Senegalese international winger played four seasons with Lazio amassing 137 appearances and scoring 31 goals, while adding another 27 assists. He was sold to AS Monaco in the summer of 2017 for a fee of €30 million.
This year Keita has 8 goals and 11 assists this season for last year’s Ligue 1 Champions, but has failed to leave a strong mark on the Jardim’s squad with striker Falcao being in fine form. His current market value still sits at the €30 million mark, but the French club is set to be hoping for more, especially with so many departures last year.
Will Keita return to the Serie A and haunt his former club?
Let us know what you think about the rumour.
