Report: Saint-Etienne forward Jonathan Bamba on Lazio’s shopping list

The transfer window is beginning to heat up and many names have been linked to Lazio over the past few days. The latest is Saint-Etienne’s French forward Jonathan Bamba. The latest reports from CalcioMercato have named the French U21 international as a potential target for Lazio.

Jonathan Bamba, 22, has been at Saint-Etienne since joining the club as a youth back in 2011. Since then, he had failed to make much of an impact, until this season when he made 37 appearances for Saint-Etienne in all competitions. He found the back of the net 8 times and made another 8 assists, as well as a pass accuracy of 80.4% and an average of 2 shots per game.

The versatility of Bamba, who is able to play as a striker, left or right forward, central attacking midfielder and on either wing, could prove to be a huge asset for Lazio. This is furthered by the fact that Ciro Immobile could be on his way out of the Lazio setup and Inzaghi, Tare and Lotito will need to sign a talented replacement. Additionally, Felipe Caicedo and Nani will not be turning out in a Lazio shirt next season, so Bamba could be the perfect replacement.

Jonathan Bamba is valued at around €6 million, making him available to Lazio for a fee in the region of €10-20 million. By no means a small fee, Tare will need his scouting team to verify that Bamba is worth every penny.
