Is Alessio Romagnoli going to join Lazio?

In the past few days, it has been revealed that AC Milan will face court for a potential breach in Financial Fair Play regulations. The Rossoneri spent a large sum of money on multiple players last summer, with the hope that they would qualify for the Champions League and attain the €40 million reward that comes with it. However, as they slipped to a 6th place finish, Champions League never looked like a possibility and now Milan must face the music. Now, the club is in danger of missing out on Europa League, as well as facing a huge fine and the need to sell players. This is where Lazio come in and the latest reports are suggesting that Lazio fan Alessio Romagnoli could be a target for Tare and Lotito in the post-de Vrij era.

Romagnoli is known for being a fan of Lazio and with contract struggles at Milan, especially given their financial situation, it could well be that he joins the club. With a current market value of €35 million according to TransferMarkt, the defender would not be available on the cheap – yet Milan may have no option but to sell, should a suitable bid come in.

This season, Romagnoli has played 41 times for Milan in all competitions, scoring three times and with a pass accuracy of 91.2%. Additionally, he won 2.5 aerial duels, 5.2 clearances and 0.9 tackles on average per-game. Having signed for Milan for around €25 million back in August 2015, Lazio would be lucky to secure his services for under €50 million.
