Report: Lazio bid for Acerbi, Lucas Perez not in Emery’s plans at Arsenal

Stefan de Vrij has played his last game for Lazio and the hunt for a worthy successor continues. It will not be easy but maybe the answer is coming from Italy. Lazio has according to RadioSei made an offer of 7 million euros for Sassuolo’s Francesco Acerbi. Sassuolo, however, are said to be wanting €10 million to part with the experienced defender.

This season, Acerbi played 38 games and scored 1 goal. The signing of Acerbi is said to be approved by Simone Inzaghi and Acerbi is accustomed to play Italian football and in a 3-men defence. Lazio and Sassuolo is said to continue their talks and perhaps we’ll soon see what future the Lazio defence holds.

Luis Alberto’s good friend, and old strike partner, Lucas Perez, has returned to Arsenal after a loan to Deportivo La Coruna. It was actually earlier on, at Deportivo, that Igli Tare studied Perez but also came across his fellow countryman Luis Alberto. The two led Deportivo La Coruna to a safe salvation, scoring half of the team’s total goals (23 out of 45). Lazio are now said to be willing to talk with Arsenal to decide the terms of the transfer (probable loan with option to buy), but there is said to be a rough agreement with Perez already. Tare could exploit his great friendship with Luis Alberto to try to take him to Rome.

It’s now reported by RadioSei that the Spaniard is not included in new Arsenal coach, Unal Emery’s, plans for the future. Emery is said to prefer Lacazette and Aubameyang as his strikers, so Perez would probably find little space if he remains in Arsenal.

Arsenal paid €20 million  for Perez and it will be hard for them to reclaim that amount of money. Maybe Lazio would be able to strike a cut-price deal and connect the Alberto-Perez dots again.

Would Acerbi fill the de Vrij void?

Would Lucas Perez solve the vice-Immobile issue?
