Back on May 15th, Lazio were said to have made an enquiry to Antalyaspor about midfielder Sandro that has been on loan at Italian side Benevento this past season

A valid option for Lazio to support his fellow countryman Lucas Leiva for the upcoming season, the Brazilian has previously played at Tottenham, QPR, and West Ham – all in the Premier League. He moved to Turkey in the winter of 2017 to join Antalyaspor on a three-year deal, and was sent on loan to newly promoted Benevento a year later after making only 15 appearances for the side.

Today, news and rumours have linked Sandro to Lazio once again

Sandro’s loan is now over at Benevento, and he has confirmed that the only way he will stay in Italy, is if he is ‘offered a contract’.

The Brazilian is an element of interest that has entered into Lazio’s orbit for the second time as a possible reinforcement to the midfield next season. According to Il Mattino, Sandro is currently in his homeland of Brazil, where he tends to stay unless an offer arises.

The biancocelesti have included him among the possible objectives, but they are not the only ones. Rivals Genoa are also said to be interested in the midfielder. In any case, those who want him must speak with Antalyaspor, who holds his card.

Sandro made 14 appearances since joining the Witches in January, starting in the center of the midfield. He managed to score 1 goal, and have a pass success percentage of 88.6. A player known for his consistency and hard work, the midfielder as an aggressive side to his game which is liked among many.

At 29 years of age, the Brazilian still has many years left to put in work and join a side willing to give him the opportunity – should Lazio be that side?
