Earlier this week, we reported that Lazio were planning on making a move for Manchester City target Eder Militão

Eder Militão has been a target for some top European clubs for some time now, including Premier League champions Manchester City. He is an extremely versatile player, able to play at centre-back, defensive midfield and right-back. He primarily features as a centre-back, but his versatility will make him a very attractive option for Lazio.

Militão has been a part of the Sao Paulo set-up since 2005, when he joined as a youth player at the age of 8. Since then, he has played 25 games for the first team, after being only promoted from the youth ranks in 2017. This season, he has featured at RB, scoring once in 5 games and with an average tackles-per-game of 2.8; with a further 4.8 clearances on average per-game.

TransferMarkt value Eder Militão at around €2.5 million and it is thought that Lazio would not have to pay more than €10 million if they wanted to secure his signature. The problem is facing off competition from Manchester City but the Premier League champions may wish to pick a bigger name.

Today, reports have stated that the player is farther away from a move to Rome then first seemed

The path that leads to Eder Militão is at risk of completely disappearing, a twenty-year-old defender and San Paolo’s rising star. In December, the player had entered into Lazio’s orbit – as revealed by LaLazioSiamoNoi – and in recent days his name was back as a possible replacement for De Vrij. Militão is unlikely to remain another year in Brazil, given the excellent growth margins recorded in the last period and his contract expiring in January 2019, which allows the player to sign a pre-contract agreement starting as early as July 1st. I Biancocelesti, with the intermediation of Giuliano Bertolucci (also agent of Felipe Anderson), have recently tried a further approach, but the operation from the beginning has appeared rather uphill…

According to what was gathered by the editorial staff of lalaziosiamonoi.it, in fact, the idea of seeing the talent of class 98′ in the capital is already likely to fade away: beyond the demands of the Paulista club (starting at a base of 20 million), to make the deal almost impossible is the tough competition that is gradually being created around the Brazilian. After the winter probing of Juventus and Roma, currently Manchester City and Chelsea, given the greater economic capabilities, have a preferential path. The Citizens, above all at the moment seem really close to concluding the matter. Porto and Borussia Dortmund remain at the window, in addition to the inclusion of Fenerbahce. In Italy, moreover, Inter’s interest should be noted, which could only spark more rumours of Miranda’s departure. All clubs with a view of Champions League for next year (excluding Chelsea), and with a decent budget to invest in the market.
