A month ago, we reported rumours of contact between Lazio and the entourage of Ganso from Sevilla

Lazio have not been shy of buying players from the South American country, having 5 on their current squad (Luiz Felipe, Felipe Anderson, Wallace, Lucas Leiva, Mauricio).

An attacking midfielder 28 years of age, Ganso likes to play higher up the pitch, in a role similar to Spanish player Luis Alberto of Lazio. A star back in his home country playing with Neymar initially back in 2008 with Santos FC, he was a very talented and skillful playmaker for the club before moving on to Sao Paulo. Here he stayed for 4 years, appearing 106 times before being scooped up by Sevilla. His style of play is more-so on the possession side, including layoffs with short passes involved as he likes to hold on to the ball and make those key passes.

Today, the rumours have been confirmed

In Brazil they, have been sure for more than a month and now they are starting to confirm the rumour from Europe. Paulo Henrique Chagas de Lima, or more simply Ganso, was offered to Lazio. The Sevilla player wants to leave La Liga and the Italian track is the one club that fascinates him the most.

As reported by Radiosei, the player was proposed to the biancocelesti after a poor season in Andalusia (just 11 appearances). Sevilla bought the player from Brazilian side São Paulo for 10 million euros, but he could leave for a figure below that, and that does not rule out the loan move.

The Brazilian can play multiple roles in midfield, but Lazio, however, wants to think about the deal, and evaluate calmly due to his status as a non-EU citizen.

His name remains among the possible alternatives for the Roman side, but at the moment it does not seem a priority. The market has yet to officially start, but it has already come alive and anything can happen.
