Current Genoa and Italian International Goalkeeper Mattia Perin looks to be moving to Serie A TIM champions Juventus this summer transfer window. With this news, Genoa looked to its goalkeeping position, and have come to an agreement with out-of-contract Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti.
After having dressed in the Biancocelesti colors for the last seven years, the now 35-year-old is ready for a new experience and adventure in the Rossoblu colors.
Marchetti did not appear in any matches for Lazio last season, after being phased out of the side. This occurred at the end of the 2016/17 season when he became injured and young Albanian Thomas Strakosha took over in goal, thriving in the first team.
Marchetti has penned a two-year contract with the club, with an option for a third year if he plays at least 50% of the matches. The medical visits were carried out this morning and have all been successful.
Only the official message is missing now, but Federico Marchetti will be the heir of Mattia Perin at Genoa.
