New rumors from a Veronese newspaper have linked 31-year-old Hellas Verona captain Romulo to Lazio.
He has a clause in his contract that will allow him to leave Hellas Verona if the team would be relegated, which after this season of the Serie A TIM is the case.
Picking up the versatile midfielder for free would be a great piece of business for Lazio as he would bring experience and depth to the position, being able to play in many different midfield roles.
Hellas Verona president Maurizio Setti stated that Lazio have not contacted him for the player yet, but that everything remains possible, with many teams rumored to be interested in signing the player.
He is reported to be asking for a 3-year contract at around 1 million euros per season.
Last season, the midfielder made 37 appearances for his club, scoring 3 goals and providing 5 assists.
