With several players ageing, and the squad looking to compete on a minimum of 3 competitions, Lazio is looking for reinforcements in each department for next season. The 3-5-2 of Simone Inzaghi is a very demanding position for the wingers as they have to cover the whole flank. The new name, already approached a few years ago, is that of Italian right-back Ignazio Abate.
As reported by the current edition of La Repubblica, the wingback of Milan is a player who ensures experience and reliability. The rossonero player has played in many games in European competitions and could be a signing that would ensure quality.
Abate is added to the long shortlist that goes from Manuel Lazzari to Lorenzo De Silvestri, but his affordable price, characteristics and the good relations with Milan could make him the choice for Lazio this summer.
Abate started his career with AC Milan coming through the youth ranks, but eventually moved away to Empoli and Torino for a year each. He returned back in 2009, and has been with the red and black’s since, making over 220 appearances for the club.
Would you like Ignazio Abate in the biancocelesti colours next season?
