Marko Grujić is a new potential name for the Lazio midfield. The Serbian, born in 1996, plays for Liverpool; but was on loan at Cardiff City this spring, where he made 13 appearances and scored a goal.
According to reports from Sportitalia and Tuttomercatoweb.com, Grujić is in the sights of Lazio; with Tare, who already is thought to be working to close the operation, trying to bring him to Italy. The cost of signing Grujić is likely to be around €5 million and his current contract expires in 2020. Grujić was Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s partner in both Under-19, where they won the European Championship in 2013, and in 2015, where they won the World Cup with Under-20. Strong physically but also technically adept, quite similar to his compatriot Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Grujić will also be part of the Serbia national team that will play the World Cup in Russia. He has already been called several times to the major national team, collecting 8 appearances.
Another curiosity concerns his professional debut with Red Star Belgrade that is dated May 26, 2013. Not sure if this date rings any bells for Lazio fans?
