Report: Lazio remain interested in Daniele Baselli as Torino set €25m price-tag

As Lazio think of possible replacements for if Sergej Milinkovic-Savic departs Rome after the World Cup, one name mentioned recently was Daniele Baselli. The 26-year-old Torino midfielder is a real talent yet, the latest reports from LaLaziosiamonoi suggest that the club have set his price at €25 million.

It is difficult, at this stage of the summer, to see Lotito willing to part with €25 million for just one player. However, if Sergej were to leave, Lazio would find their transfer budget significantly bolstered. Whilst Baselli remains a more similar player to Marco Parolo than Milinkovic-Savic; it is still hard to see this transfer going through without the Serbian’s sale.

Baselli had a good season for Torino; playing 34 games in all competitions: scoring four times, assisting another two, with a pass accuracy of 82.2% and an average of 2.1 long balls per game. Baselli is able to play as a central defensive, central and central attacking midfielder, giving him great versatility in narrow plays.

Baselli is far more defensively minded than Milinkovic-Savic, averaging 2 tackles, 1.8 interceptions and 1.2 clearances per game for Torino in 17/18. With the Italian a viable option for Lazio, the only question left is: will Lotito cough up the cash?
