After reports earlier this week stated that Liverpool were waiting at the door for a chance to sign Thomas Strakosha, a new team has entered the running. Soon-to-be reeling from the departure of goalkeeper Bernd Leno, who appears to be moving to Arsenal, Leverkusen are looking for a replacement. CittaCeleste are now reporting that Leverkusen could be willing to bid up to €30 million to secure Strakosha’s replacement as they look to build the long-term future of the club.
Filling the Leno-sized gap in the Leverkusen set-up is a tall order; with the German keeper being an important part of their team for years now. He moved to Leverkusen from Stuttgart back in 2012 for €7.5m and has even made 6 appearances fo the German national team.
If Lazio were to lose Strakosha, a replacement would become top priority. Despite the signing of Proto, if Strakosha leaves; Lazio must bring in an immediate replacement. The names floating around currently being Sportiello and Rui Patricio; the latter having terminated his contract at Lisbon and thus available on a free.
