Real Madrid agreed a deal this week to bring 17-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Rodrygo from Santos FC to Spain in July 2019. The fee is thought to be in the region of €45 million; an astonishing figure for a 17-year-old. Now, Brazilian outlet UOL Sport have revealed that representatives from Lazio have met with Santos FC over the potential signing of another one of the Brazilian club’s bright young starts. Lucas Lourenço, 17, has been a teammate of Rodrygo since the age of 10 and is considered to be similar in style to Lazio’s departing winger Felipe Anderson.
Having featured for the Brazilian U16 and U17 national teams, Lourenço would be an exciting signing for Lazio; yet almost certainly one for the future, rather than a short-term replacement for Felipe Anderson.
If Lazio were to move for Papu Gomez, Matteo Politano or Gelson Martins, they would have a solid replacement for Felipe Anderson – allowing the signing of Lucas Lourenço for the future.
