Romulo Agent: “Bids from Sao Paulo and Internacional. Lazio? We are in touch”

Recently, we reported on rumours and quotes linking Hellas Verona midfielder Romulo with a move to Lazio. The player, currently with Hellas Verona, has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave on a free after Verona were relegated to Serie B.

Romulo, 31, is an Italian-Brazilian defensive midfielder; who is also capable of filling in roles further up the pitch and at full-back. Lazio are looking to add some experience into their side this summer and with the veteran midfielder potentially available on a free if the right club comes knocking, Tare and Lotito could look to act.

Romulo’s agent, Alex Firmino, spoke to LaLaziosiamonoi as he seemed to clarify the rumours.

He really likes Italy. In Rome there is practically a derby. We were talking to Lazio and suddenly Roma entered.

Firmino noted that in Lazio’s case, “the track did not get cold” but stressed that “now they are not alone anymore.

He has “two official offers, the first is from Sao Paulo, the other from Internacional in Porto Alegre.”

The clock is ticking for Lazio to come to an agreement with Romulo, with the player’s agent flying to Italy in the coming days to discuss a move with clubs around the country.
