Felipe Anderson’s potential departure, although not for certain as it seems that negotiations have stalled between West Ham United and Lazio, could catalyse an incoming transfer for Lazio. A lot of rumours have been circulating about the potential replacement for the Brazilian winger. Now, according to reports from Radiosei, Atalanta’s Alejandro Gomez could be available for just €10 million.
A price-tag like this will appeal to Lazio president Claudio Lotito, especially considering Lazio could see gains of around €25-30m after the sale of Felipe Anderson. Gomez has been on Lazio’s radar for some time now and after a fairly unimpressive season, the attacker’s price has fallen.
Not only this but ‘Papu’ Gomez is 30-years-old and thus would only be a short-term replacement for the departing Brazilian. Lazio must decide whether they pursue the option of Gomez or hunt for a young alternative, such as Matteo Politano or Roger Guedes.
