Report: Lazio and Ricardo Kishna agree contract extension

It is unclear as of yet whether Ricardo Kishna has a future at Lazio. Today’s Radiosei reports suggest that Kishna and Lazio have reached an agreement to extend the Dutchman’s contract from a 2019 expiry to a 2020 expiry.

Lazio paid around €6m for Kishna when they bought him from Ajax in 2015 but their investment has really failed to pay out. After a string of unimpressive seasons, Kishna moved to ADO Den Haag on loan for the 17/18 season – only to suffer a season-long injury 3 games into the season.

It is thought that Lazio’s motive behind this new contract extension is that the club wish to try and make some money on Kishna, instead of just letting him depart the club on a free next summer. There is also, of course, the possibility that Kishna remains in Rome for the 18/19 season and gets another chance to prove himself. Who knows, the solution to the departure of Felipe Anderson could be sitting right under our noses.

Does Kishna deserve another chance at Lazio?
