18:13 – Bernard set for Shakhtar departure, Lazio to swoop in?
The door for Lazio to pick up another free, like Gelson Martins, to replace Felipe Anderson has opened. This time, we travel to Ukraine where Brazilian-Spanish midfielder Bernard officially announced his departure from Shakhtar at the end of his contract.
Lazio could move for a real steal on the market and snap up Bernard for free.
Full report, later.
14:30 – Boyata speaks about future
Speaking about his future at the World Cup, Belgium and Celtic centre-back Dedryck Boyata said: I look step by step. I have a contract for another season with Celtic and now I want to concentrate on the World Cup. For the rest we’ll see later.”
The defender started in Belgium’s WC opener against Panama, in which the red devils triumphed 3-0.
13:21 – Palombi agrees Leece loan
Leece are set to complete a double loan swoop from Lazio, with Simone Palombi on the verge of signing a temporary contract with the newly promoted Serie B club. Luca Germoni is the other player that former Lazio legend Fabio Liverani wants to bring to Leece and we will eagerly wait and see how the players perform.
12:52 – Immobile: “I’m fine in Rome. For now my future and that of my family is in the Capital.”
With news yesterday that Ciro Immobile could be signing a contract extension in September to make him Lazio’s highest earner, Chi reached out to the forward for comment on his future:
“With Lazio this year we were unlucky. I’m fine in Rome. For now my future and that of my family is in the Capital.”
And, speaking about the World Cup, Immobile said:
“Without the World Cup, with Italy eliminated, I experienced the worst football moment of my career, only with my family can I find a smile. Russia 2018? Who knows what we would have done. I have some friends in Brazil and the men in green stimulate the sympathy and affection of those who love football.”
11:36 – Sassuolo director: “no kind of scheduled meeting” with Lazio about Acerbi
Speaking to Cittaceleste, Sassuolo director of sport Carvenali has said: “Lazio called us previously for Acerbi, but now there are no updates and there is no kind of scheduled meeting.” This would suggest that perhaps Lazio may be losing interest after Sassuolo are reluctant to let the player for less than €15m. Lotito is not prepared to meet this and despite Inzaghi wanting the player at Formello, we await further updates on the Acerbi saga.
10:10 – Biancoceleste push for Barreca
The latest reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Lazio are again, as they were last year, interested in Torino full-back Antonio Barreca. This news comes as somewhat of a shock after a deal for Riza Durmisi could be close; is Jordan Lukaku’s place at Lazio under threat?
8:23 – Lazio news morning headlines
The signing of Silvio Proto is inches away from being complete, according to TMW, in a deal which would see the Belgian goalkeeper become Lazio’s vice-Strakosha. The deal is reportedly for two-years, with an option for a 1-year extension. Proto, 35, will force Ivan Vargic’s spot under pressure; with the Lazio willing to sell the Croatian. [LaLaziosiamonoi]
