The door for Lazio to pick up another free agent, like Gelson Martins, to replace Felipe Anderson has opened. This time, we travel to Ukraine where Brazilian-Spanish midfielder Bernard has officially announced his departure from Shakhtar at the end of his contract.
A similar player to Felipe Anderson in every aspect – including playing style, position, nationality, and size – Lazio could move for a real steal on the market and snap up Bernard for free. The playmaker is only 25-years of age, and has been with the Ukrainian club since 2013, after joining from Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro for £22.50m. Bernard has played in 95 matches for the side picking up 14 goals and 24 assist in the process.
