Lazio’s move for Dedryck Boyata seems to be progressing nicely as an alternative to Francesco Acerbi. If a deal for the Sassuolo defender does not go through, according to reports from Radiosei, the biancoceleste are thinking of Celtic’s Belgian centre-back.
A bid of around €6m-€8m is expected to be on the table from Lazio, which would likely be accepted by the Scottish club.
The Acerbi deal is looking like it could go one of two ways over the next few days; either completely collapsing or going through and the player officially becoming a Laziale within the next week.
Boyata is an interesting back-up option and proved his worth perhaps when featuring in Belgium’s 3-0 win over Panama, featuring in a 3-back defensive line. An inconsistent defender, yes, but one with international experience on the world’s biggest stage.
