With Francesco Acerbi nearing a move to Lazio; and with Dedryck Boyata also waiting in the wing as a possible signing, Radiosei are now reporting that Wallace is wanted by both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sporting Lisbon.
Wolves are newly promoted to the Premier League and, thanks to super-agent Jorge Mendes, should have no problems with staying in the top flight. They are looking for ways to shore up their defence, having recently completed the free signing of Rui Patricio from Sporting Lisbon.
On the topic of Sporting Lisbon, they are also an interested party in Wallace. Still reeling from the contract terminations that followed after an ultra attack on the club’s training ground in May, Lisbon are in dire need of signings – and now have the wage budget freed up to bring in some higher earners.
If Wallace were to leave, it would all-but confirm the stay of Bastos; as only one of the two defenders was expected to stay. With Caceres, Radu and Luiz Felipe still available also, Wallace is not needed at Lazio – and the club could seek to sell if an appropriate bid comes in.
