According to the Bergamo edition of Il Corriere della Sera, Lazio could be plotting a double swoop for two of Atalanta’s most gifted attackers. Andrea Petagna and Alejandro Gomez are the names mentioned; with the paper reporting that Atalanta would ask for just €30 million for the duo.
This means that with the money made from the expected departure of Felipe Anderson, Lazio can sign an additional two players to really help push them forward next season. Champions League is the goal and two proven forwards would certainly add a wealth of options for Simone Inzaghi.
Petagna would be an ideal rotation for Ciro Immobile whilst Gomez is almost a like-for-like replacement for Felipe Anderson. It is unclear whether or not the Petagna deal hinges on the switch of Wesley Moraes; yet Lazio signing both Wesley and Petagna would certainly show a statement of intent.
Andrea Petagna and Alejandro Gomez moving to Lazio would also weaken Atalanta; who have been up there and challenging Lazio for Europa League for the past couple of seasons.
