One of the biggest, and most talked about names on the transfer market is Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Serbia have now crashed out of the international competition, and their World Cup adventure has now ended, after a 2-0 loss to Tite’s talented Selecao (Brazil). Serbia finished third in the group after a promising start with a 1-0 win over Costa Rica, but two consecutive losses to Switzerland and Brazil by scorelines of 2-1, and 2-0. Serbia will head home empty handed in their perspective, not progressing through the group stages of the competition.

Lazio midfielder Milinkovic-Savic cannot take this experience in Russia negatively, as for his first World Stage performance against three good sides, he did what he could and showed great promise at certain points. After a long and intense season the midfielder will be able to enjoy a few days of vacation and switch off, despite the persistent market rumors concerning him:

“I finished a very long season today. I will rest for a while, then I will return to Rome. I’m there with Lazio, I have a contract and I’m happy like that – he declared to Mediaset’s microphones – Juventus? I have seen that they are following me from the newspapers, but I have not yet thought about the market. First I want to rest, then when I come back to Rome we will see”.
