Federico Marchetti’s tenure at Lazio has come to an end today, as he officially completed a free switch to Genoa at the expiry of his contract. Marchetti signed for Lazio for €5.2 million in July 2011 and went on to play over 194 games for the Biancoceleste.
Today, though, he bid farewell after seven years of loyal service. In his goodbye message, Marchetti wrote the following:
“When you leave you do not need many words apart from thanks! Thanks to all those who made me feel at home, from the first day and for 7 long years. Thanks to all of you Laziali, I won’t forget you and I will always be your Tarzan! a lthough this last year has not been the most positive, I wanted to thank the club SS Lazio for giving me the opportunity to wear this shirt so important: they have been unforgettable years, unfortunately in life, even the most beautiful things sometimes end.Now it’s time for a new experience but one thing I’m sure: my heart will always be tied to these colors.”
