Former Primavera talent Mamadou Tounkara was once thought to be a bigger talent than former compatriot and teammate Keita Balde when they both joined Lazio from the Barcelona youth team. However, a lack of development and perhaps a mental attitude meant that Tounkara is yet to make any real impact on the professional scene. Last season, he was loaned out to Albanian side Flamurtari where, once again, he failed to impress. Tounkara still has a contract with Lazio until 2019 as Lazio has kept their faith in him but the train might have left now… This time, Tounkara has been officially sent on a season-long loan to FC Schaffhausen, a club in the Challenge League (the Swiss second division). It remains to be seen if Tounkara this time around will show his talent or if his Lazio career from now on will be a distant dream.
