After Uruguay was eliminated against France in the quarter finals at the World Cup yesterday, Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Martin Caceres has extended his time with Lazio. He will pursue the option to renew his contract for another year.
Caceres had a very impressive tournament playing in every game at right-back, clearly showing that he can be of great use to Lazio with his versatility and overall play in important matches. He was defensively sound, while also creating many chances in the offensive half during his nations World Cup campaign. If Caceres remains healthy, which was not the case for most of last season, we presume he will be an important player for Lazio in the upcoming 2018/19 season.
