Rumours have been circulating in the past few days linking AC Milan’s Fabio Borini with a move to Lazio.
Tare and Lotito were very close to bringing the midfielder to Rome last summer but ultimately failed. Now, they could receive Borini for no up front cost at all. This is because AC Milan still owe Lazio instalments of up to €7m for the transfer of Lucas Biglia last season.
This fee would be enough to cover the transfer costs of Borini but his wage demands could prove to be a problem. He currently earns over €2 million a year and a move to Lazio would make him one of the highest earners.
Therefore, Lotito may be discouraged unless the player is willing to take a personal hit to help the move happen.
