The Lazio players and staff have all been appearing sporadically throughout the day to initiate and undergo their medical examinations and tests before heading off to training camp. However, one player who did not arrive, who has an extended period off, if that of Martin Caceres.
With his nation of Uruguay, they managed to top Group A with three victories and defeat Portugal in the Round of 16 by a score of 2-1, before being halted by France in the quarter finals, losing 2-0. Caceres was a starter in every match on the right-flank, and precisely for these performances throughout the tournament on the big stage in Russia, he has attracted potential suitors. According to newspaper Fanatik in Turkey, the defender has interested Besiktas, who are ready to initiate talks with Lazio this week.
This is a deal that will probably be rejected however – the future of the Uruguayan seems destined not to move away from the Capital. As reported by GianlucaDiMarzio.com, Caceres exercised the option to extend his contract with Lazio by one year.
