Speaking at the retreat at Auronzo di Cadore, where Lazio are taking part in their pre-season training camp, Wallace, Lazio’s Brazilian centre-back had his say on various topics.

Wallace spoke about Felipe Anderson’s departure, his next season, Lucas Leiva, and several other interesting points. Lazio Style Channel ran the interview and here is the translated interview:

ON AURONZO: “The climate here is perfect, first it’s hot then refreshes: these are ideal climatic conditions for working. When there is the affection of the fans, we see that they are by our side and we want to always do better. I’m in the room with Luiz Felipe, who is my compatriot and we always speak Portuguese. Inside there are small groups but then the team is always united and we will have to prove it on the field.”

ON FELIPE ANDERSON’S DEPARTURE: I will miss Felipe a lot, he’s a friend of mine, we’re roommates, I’m happy for him and for the company because both sides are satisfied. We’ll have to go on, I’m here with Lazio and I want to get up the table.”

ON HIS PERSONAL OBJECTIVES: In the first season, I was able to demonstrate my qualities while in the second many injuries have limited me. This year I want to do my best to help Lazio. My flexibility is useful to the team: I want to help you regardless of position. We are working well and we have to go on like this.”

ON THE SUMMER SIGNINGS: The newcomers are excellent people and players of quality, they have been immediately understood. Slowly they will integrate into the group and help the rose to grow.”

ON LUCAS LEIVA: From the moment he arrived he was very important to us. He arrived in confidence, bringing quality and quantity playing in front of the defence. He protects you and gives you security. He helped us a lot both in defense and in attack, where he scored many goals. Now, with the team we are working to try to concede less goals, since we let in too many last season. We do not want to make the same mistakes.”
