Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez, the Atalanta playmaker, gave an exclusive interview to Sky Sport microphones: “It’s strange to work without knowing the official dates of our Europa League. Not just for us, but also for all those involved in logistics. We are calm, we are having a terrific ritiro (retreat). We want to improve again, especially in Europe, while in the league it will be very difficult to perform again but we want to do it”.
He then talked about his future resulting in Lazio fans being hopeful about the potential acquisition of the Argentine: “Personally I’m fine [in Atalanta], as far as the transfer market is concerned, I’m used to it. When you have a good season, it is also normal that requests arrive. My agent will work with the company and we’ll see what happens. I repeat that I am very happy in Bergamo and I consider it my home. But I must be honest and I can not say that I will remain [in Atalanta] 100%. I have responsibilities with the Nerazzurri, but I would like to play for major clubs. I have not heard anything about Lazio yet, but I never make love promises because in today’s football you never know what will happen”.
We’ll see what happens in the remaining days of the transfer market, but for now you can read the player profile on Papu to become more familiar with the 5’5″ footballer here!
