According to reports from CalcioMercato, Marko Arnautovic has been put up for sale, following the West London club’s signing of Felipe Anderson.
The former Inter Milan star has reportedly bene offered to Roma already, yet a move to Lazio could benefit all parties. West Ham and Lazio have already dealt this summer; with Felipe Anderson completing a move from Rome to London for around €40 million.
Now, with money in the coffers, Lazio could actively pursue a replacement and the 29-year-old Austrian may solve more than one problem.
Lazio are looking for an alternate option to Luis Alberto, who struggled with injuries due to playing so much in the 17/18 season. Not only this, but the transfer of Wesley Moraes has been close but not quite completed for a while, therefore Arnautovic could double as a vice-Immobile, or even star alongside the prolific Italian forward.
Roma are disinterested, with Monchi not wishing to make a move for the player; so Lazio should act fast and let that rejection fuel Arnautovic’s desire.
After signing for West Ham for around €24m last summer and with transfermarkt valuing him at around €26m, he would not be cheap. For a 29-year-old too, Lotito may be hesitant in coughing up the required sum; yet Arnautovic would undoubtedly be a top quality addition to the Biancoceleste squad.
Not only is the Austrian forward versatile but he has shown his determination to prove critics wrong in the Premier League, having a fantastic 17/18 season; scoring 11 goals and assisting a further six in the league – an impressive tally.
