New rumours have recently surfaced about Lazio’s interest in 32-year-old Swedish central midfielder Pontus Wernbloom, who spent the last 6 seasons with CSKA Moscow and is now out of a contract. Last season, Pontus scored 5 goals and added 4 assists in 23 appearances for the Russian side. In Italy, Fiorentina, Bologna and of course Lazio are said to be showing interest in the player on a free transfer, with la Viola currently ahead in negotiations. The player could add much-needed depth to the midfield of whichever team he decides to sign with.
