According to the latest reports from French outlet L’Equipe, Lazio have matched Wolfsburg’s €17 million bid for Lille’s 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder, Thiago Mendes.
Mendes is the target of a number of teams; Wolfsburg, Everton, Newcastle and previously the two Milan sides; AC and Inter.
Mendes signed for Lille from Sao Paulo back in 2017 on a five-year contract, with the transfer fee reportedly ‘up to €9 million’.
Thiago Mendes can play as a right-back, and nearly all midfield roles, having played in CDM, LM, CM, RM, LAM, RAM and CAM for Lille in the 17/18 season. Out of all these roles, central midfield was his most common, making 14 starts from the position.
It appears as though Lazio are serious about Thiago Mendes; now we must wait for Lille’s response.
