According to the latest reports from various Italian sources, including CittaCeleste, Lazio have re-emerged in the race to sign Croatian midfielder Milan Badelj.
Badelj’s contract with Fiorentina expired around a month ago, meaning the Croat is available on a free transfer. Lazio were interested earlier in the summer, yet, the pursuit of AC Milan and, later, Zenit St. Petersburg, appeared to have all but eliminated the possibility of Badelj in Biancoceleste colours.
However, the Russian club did not end up completing a deal and, despite interest from Sporting Lisbon, it is now thought that Milan Badelj would prefer to stay in Italy. AC Milan appear to have not renewed their interest just yet, which leaves Lazio as a possibility once again.
Simone Inzaghi would like an additional midfield signing, after Valon Berisha switched from Salzburg to Lazio earlier on in the transfer window.
