Report: Joaquin Ibanez lands in Rome, medicals scheduled for tomorrow

Two days ago, we reported that Joaquin Ibanez had come to an agreement to sign with Lazio, and today, the player has landed in Rome: he has officially chosen the biancocelesti to be his next club.

Despite the interest of many teams from the Premier League and Serie A – especially Bologna – the prodigy of the River Plate youth team will undergo his medicals tomorrow morning at the Paideia Clinic as reported by Corriere dello Sportcalciomercato.com, CittaCeleste.com, and LazioChannel.it. The 2000 born player will join the rest of Valter Bonacina’s Primavera in these medicals. There is then the possibility that he could enter into Simone Inzaghi’s plans for this season if he were able to perform highly and to the coaches liking.

In addition, we will wait to see if River Plate decides to bring forth a question to the Court, related to this transfer. The purchase of Ibanez by Lazio has infuriated both River Plate and Bologna as the club of Buenos Aires, in fact, had made arrangements with Bologna where the young man should have gone to trial and, if he had received the approval of the Emilian company the South American team would have obtained a percentage on the future resale of the player. It was a stealth pick-up by the Biancocelesti, who could even face FIFA action because of the controversy.
