Lazio is still working hard to try to bring Papu Gomez to Rome. All that is missing is the right offer to Atalanta as it is believed Papu has already agreed to terms with Lazio.
The Argentine ‘trequartista’ has been a target of Simone Inzaghi for quite some time now, but Atalanta will not give Lazio a bargain for the player. They want an offer along the lines of 15-20 million Euros for Gomez, while the Biancocelesti were looking more at 10-12 million Euros, considering the player is turning 31 in February.
The fact that the ex-Catania player has never officially come out to say he wanted to leave the Bergamo club helps Atalanta in these negotiations as they can be patient and wait for the offer they feel is just for Gomez.
With that being said, there is still a good chance both teams can find common ground in the coming days to finally complete the transfer.
