After rumours emerged earlier this week that Igli Tare had been negotiating with Bayer Leverkusen about the sale of Kai Havertz – the agent, speaking to CalcioMercato, ruled out any possibility of a move, as well as denying any contact whatsoever.
Thorsten Wirth, Havertz’s agent, said: “There was absolutely no contact between me and Lazio nor between the Roman club and Bayer.”
This suggest that, yet again, the media are making up names for the possible ‘Mr. X’ who was being lined up if Sergej Milinkovic-Savic were to leave the Italian capital; with a number of top clubs interested in his signature.
However, it is looking increasingly likely that the 23-year-old Serbian midfielder will remain at Lazio and, therefore, the search for an alternative may be over before it had even truly begun.
