According to what has been reported by Tuttosport this morning, after their reports yesterday that Leonardo, Milan’s technical director, was in Rome to negotiate for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, it has been revealed that they are not chasing him – as was first thought.
This comes after, firstly, the revelation that Leonardo was actually in Milan yesterday, not Rome; therefore no meeting took place about the 23-year-old Serbian midfielder.
Secondly, despite Milan’s financial strength thanks to the Elliott Management Corp. that has funded Milan, they have a meeting with UEFA in recent weeks as an after-conversation on the grounds of financial fair play. An operation as big as the one for Milinkovic-Savic would, therefore, not be seen favourably.
