It’s been a busy few days for us over at TheLaziali.com, hence why the second rumour report, so, to make up for it, this will be a bumper edition – including today’s latest rumours, as well as coverage of some of the other less believable reports from the press over the weekend.
Stefano Sturaro (Juventus to Lazio)
Reports today have suggested that Stefano Sturaro is still a target of Lazio. The Juventus midfielder has been listed as the Old Lady attempt to balance the books after signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid. It has been suggested that Sturaro could be used as a counterpart in a part-exchange deal for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, yet, with Pjanic looking increasingly likely to stay in Turin – it is thought that the Serbian will not be moving to Juventus. Therefore, making a deal for Sturaro to Lazio unlikely.
Milinkovic-Savic (Lazio to Inter or AC Milan)
There is no point repeating past information about the interest of the likes of Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona in Milinkovic-Savic, yet, over the weekend, two new clubs were ‘linked’ to the Serbian. Both Inter and AC Milan were rumoured, with the latter reportedly making a somewhat laughable offer of a €40m loan and an €80m option to buy. Inter supposedly enquired but, I think it is safe to say, Sergej is out of the budget of both clubs.
Papu Gomez (Atalanta to Lazio)
The Papu Gomez rumours were back in full force over the weekend but largely reiterating what has already been known. Since the arrival of Joaquin Correa from Sevilla, Gomez to Lazio is looking a less probably prospect. However, it is thought that Simone Inzaghi really likes the Atalanta forward and is looking at him as a first choice if Milinkovic-Savic were to leave.
The other possibility is Gomez arriving as a vice-Immobile if Felipe Caicedo leaves the club; yet this is another deal hanging in the balance.
