With Italy’s transfer window coming to a close on August 17 there is still plenty of work to be done to whittle down Lazio’s squad for the upcoming season. Currently the midfield seems to be the most crowded position and there are still a few players that could leave before the season begins.
Cataldi, who has never been accepted by Lazio fans after celebrating a goal against the Biancocelesti while on loan at Genoa, has piqued the interest of Chievo Verona according to Gazzetta dello Sport. This comes shortly after Empoli’s president Fabrizio Corsi shot down rumours that he would bring in the Italian this summer.
It also seems that Davide Di Gennaro and Alessandro Murgia have garnered interest from another Serie A club. SPAL are interested in the Italians as they look to reinforce their midfield so they can avoid relegation this season. However, the Ferrarese club are also interested in Sassuolo’s midfield talisman Simone Missiroli.
