At the end of today’s morning training, biancoceleste defender Martin Caceres gave a statement to Lazio Style Channel.
“The climate here in Marienfeld is very good and the level of training is always very high, thanks to the work of our staff and all the players. This morning we completed a good session focused on the defensive phase, while in the afternoon our work will be dedicated to explosiveness.
“I arrived in Lazio in January and I found an already formed group: me and the other new signings are already integrated, the atmosphere in the locker room is very nice and spontaneous. We are working, even we [Caceres + Milinkovic-Savic] who returned from the World Cup, are working for 2 weeks now. The rest of the team started preparing in Auronzo di Cadore, now we are finishing this pre-season in Germany. A final friendly [against Dortmund] awaits us before the championship start. Personally, I am very happy, and I am giving my best for the shirt I wear, like all the guys who are in Lazio. The level of Italian football has risen a lot, but in the locker room, we are thinking only to feel good among us and to find the best fitness level. The goal is to get ready for the first game against Napoli.”
“We have very strong players like Milinkovic, the Serbian has surprised me, its impressive to see how he trains every day. Even Ciro Immobile is very strong, I already shared some experiences with him at Sevilla. At the team level, we hope to do our best for the upcoming season. Every season is different from the previous one, but the most important thing is to give the maximum. When I was in Sevilla, Luis Alberto was not even 18 years old and we were joking together, now we have met at Lazio and we also meet outside the field, there is a very strong friendship between us.”
I am lucky to have already played in a back-three formation at Juventus. I give my best on and off the pitch. At the defensive level, we are working a lot, we had many goals in the last season and it was natural to focus on this aspect during the summer preparation.
In this period, it is essential to find the right position and the right physical form to help the team suffer fewer goals than last season. I can play in any role because I am at the disposal of Mr. Simone Inzaghi. At the beginning of last year, I scored against Juventus, but with the biancoceleste shirt it would be nice to score a goal against any other team, to contribute to a victory.”
