Lazio’s final pre-season friendly will be taking place tomorrow (12th August) in the Stadion Essen, in Essen, Germany. The match will be Borussia Dortmund vs Lazio and it will be the last chance Simone Inzaghi has to see who is ready before the new season kicks off.
Dortmund come into the game with a fairly strong form in pre-season, albeit losing 3-1 to Napoli on the 7th of August. Before that they drew 1-1 with Ligue 1 club Rennes, after beating the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in the International Champions Cup. Dortmund have lost some key players over the years but they fight on, hoping to one day challenge Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table.
Lazio, on the other hand, have played much smaller opposition and Arsenal, to whom the Biancoceleste suffered a 2-0 loss. Lazio beat SPAL 3-0, Triestina 3-0 and battered some smaller teams with big goal margins. Lazio were unlucky to not qualify for the Champions League, after battling hard throughout last season and throwing it away against Inter on the final day of the season. Simone Inzaghi will be looking to bounce back and get the team going for the start of the season.

Dortmund vs Lazio prediction
My personal prediction for this clash, given that it is a friendly, is a relatively tame score draw. I think both teams will want to impress but not overdo themselves, therefore I’d see it being a 1-1 or possible even 2-2 draw. Both sides have a lot of quality and Inzaghi will be looking to his Lazio team to impress in particular.
