Report: Sporting CP want Jordan Lukaku

Sporting CP have had quite the busy transfer market this summer. After the incident with fans which saw several key players leave the side for free [10 to be exact; 6 free transfers], the Portuguese side needed to make signings to bring the squad back to decent competitiveness. They managed to purchase 6 players and most recently secure Juventus’ Stefano Sturaro on loan.

Now, according to Alfredo Pedullà, the Portuguese side are said to be still shopping and have landed in Italy once again: in addition to Viviano and Sturaro, Sporting are interested in Jordan Lukaku, Lazio’s left fullback and Belgian international. Lukaku’s contract expires in 2019, however, there is an option for Lazio to continue it once it reaches that date.

A 24-year-old with loads of potential, his brother Romelu has already shown his worth as he now plays for Manchester United. Jordan has had a slower progression, but joining Lazio has allowed him to gain much-needed attraction, especially after performances last season. However, as Lazio’s squad begins to become crowded and complete, there is trouble guaranteeing positions, and Lukaku is one of those players who is on the border of ‘in’ or ‘out’.

Will Lazio keep hold of Lukaku?
