The former biancoceleste coach celebrates his 55th birthday today. Born in Sarajevo on August 15th, 1963, Vladimir Petkovic was the coach of Lazio from the summer of 2012 to 4 January 4th, 2014. With the Eagles, the coach collected 37 victories and 22 draws in 81 matches.
The biancoceleste coach wrote an important part of history for the club, leading the biancocelesti to conquer the Italian Cup on May 26th, 2013, beating Roma 0-1 thanks to the goal scored by Lulic in the 71st minute.
Petkovic has now been the manager of the Swiss international side since 2014, after the World Cup. With 4 years (running on 5 years now) of national experience, the coach has really improved and looks to have an understanding of the potential in the Swiss nation – the 2018 World Cup outing was a great example of this and his success.
In previous years, Petkovic also managed Bellinzona (1997-98), Malcantone Agno (1999-04), Lugano (2004-05), Bellinzona (2005-08), Young Boys (2008-11), Samsunspor (2011-12), and Sion (2012) in addition to Lazio, after his playing career that ended in 1999 (started in 1981).
Grazie Vladimir, e Auguri!
